PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS

Partnership with Parents

We hold a Parents Evening twice a year which enables us to provide parents with individual progress reports.

Parents in Partnership at Chaston Nurseries means that the management and staff fully understand and respect that parents/guardians/carers have primary responsibility for their children, this includes their development and education.
It is our policy to work in close co-ordination with each child's parents/guardians/carers in an atmosphere of open dialogue and mutual collaboration with respect to the child's needs, wants and values. This will soundly contribute to the following key objectives:-

1.1 To ensure that the individual developmental and learning needs of the child are met.

1.2 To better understand and to contribute positively to the cultures and values of the child's family and community.

Parents/Guardians are asked to openly discuss any special needs that their child may have and agree on the best procedures for caring for the child. This will address language, cultural, religious, dietary and medical needs, allergies, disabilities and impairments.

Parents/guardians/carers are actively enabled to spend some time with their children if they wish to do so, and are required to do so during the initial settling in phase.

Parents/guardians/carers are afforded access to their child's records at any time.

At Chaston Nurseries we are aware that it is not always convenient to walk with very young children to and from the schools. Whilst we are unable to impact the restrictions made at the roadside for parking. It is our understanding that at the discretion of the borough parking wardens it is possible to park outside the Nurseries whilst dropping off or collecting children for limited periods; to allow for this, as wardens are aware that parents may need to do so.
